When Danish architect Ole Schjøll was studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, he developed an idea for a stool. He drafted the design and made a prototype that would then sit in the Architecture School's furniture collection for the next several decades.
A few years ago, Schjøll approached maker A. Petersen with his prototype and a stack of drawings, in the hopes that they might be able to put his design into production. This clever stool design caught their attention and the Wicker Stool went into production. A hand braided Wicker cushion sits atop a base in Ash. Made in the A. Petersen workshop in Denmark, Schjøll's Wicker Stool is the epitome of high craft.
